RENEW’S ANGELA DOMINA SELECTED AS DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Award WinnerMarch 20, 2007 – Newcastle

“It’s a reaffirmation that RENEW is doing it right.”

That was the reaction of Rehabilitation Enterprises of North Eastern Wyoming (RENEW) CEO Larry Samson upon learning that the Sheridan-based non-profit, for the fourth year in a row, has had a RENEW employee selected as the “Direct Support Professional of the Year” in the five county northeastern Wyoming region.

And this year’s winner? With some 300 service providers in Crook, Weston, Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan Counties eligible, Angela Domina, Direct Care Professional for RENEW in Newcastle has been named the big winner.

CEO Samson was not surprised. In Samson’s words, “Angela celebrates two years with RENEW this month and everyone who works with this incredible woman realizes her tireless dedication towards the several clients with disabilities she serves.”

RENEW Newcastle Operations Manager Annette Hawk was equally enthused. “Angela is a soft-spoken, warm, empathetic person and an integral part of our team. She goes above and beyond her job expectations. Angie deserves this award for the outstanding contributions she makes on a daily basis to enhance the lives of our clients.”

And reaction from Angela? “I was just stunned; I couldn’t believe it. RENEW is the greatest organization to be a part of -- but that’s just it. I’m just a part of RENEW; none of this would have been possible without the wonderful staff and clients I work with.”

Accolades are nothing new for Angela. Six weeks ago she was named Newcastle RENEW Employee for the Year 2006.

Ms. Domina will accept her latest award from Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield at a special awards banquet March 22nd
in Cheyenne.

Judges were selected from the five county service area and included Sheridan City Council-person Marc Ketcham, community advocate and client guardian Dan Lick and Newcastle Area Chamber of Commerce Director Norma Shelton. Local community support includes Albertsons who are donating corsages and boutonnieres for the Cheyenne awards banquet.

The “Direct Support Professional of the Year” award is sponsored by the Wyoming Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division.
