History

1972-1977

  • Goose Creek Products Board of Directors raised $20,000.00 from the Sheridan Community for First Year Operations.
  • Goose Creek Products, Inc. became a Legal Entity.
  • Entered First Contract with State of Wyoming to Provide Services to the Adult DD Population from Five North Eastern Counties.
  • Moved Work Center from West Brook Motors Building to 260 E. Brundage.
  • Opened First Group Housing Unit at the Lee Motel .
  • Group Housing Moved to 446 & 449 South Main St.
  • Goose Creek Products  became RENEW.

1978-1982

  • Sheridan County Purchases the Old Sheridan Creamery Building on 254 Broadway on behalf of RENEW.
  • HUD selects RENEW as a National Demonstration Site for Housing and Life Skills Services.
  • Clients Move into the New HUD Group Homes and Apartment Complexes.
  • RENEW Becomes the First Program in Wyoming to Develop Written Policies and Procedures to Protect Clients Basic Rights. 
  • First Accreditation Award by CARF

1983-1987

  • Received second CARF Accreditation at the highest level.
  • Becomes licensed as a Private School by the State of Wyoming under Chapter III, Sessions Laws of Wyoming 1969
  • RENEW public transit begins operations.
  • Transportation fleet expands from four vehicles to thirteen.
  • Bronco’s Basketball hosts the first major fund raising sports event on behalf of RENEW.
  • RENEW develops first comprehensive marketing plan towards goals of self sufficiency within the Wyoming Rehabilitation Facilities.
  • Financial records become automated
  • RENEW is recognized as a Statewide Leader for Job Coaching, Job Placement, Independent Living, and Transitioned Living.

1988-1992

  • 1988-Purchased Gillette Administrative Services  with a Community Block Grant.
  • 1990 -Became an active member of the Sheridan Wellness Council 
  • 1991-Licensed as a Provider of Medicaid Home and Community Based Adult Waiver Services.  
  • 1991-Received Agent Orange Grant to assist families of Vietnam Vetran’s throughout Wyoming.
  • Established comprehensive Day Habilitation Services in Gillette and Sheridan.
  • 1991-Purchased two existing homes in Gillette with  Community Development Block Grant.

1993-1997

  •  RENEW Day Habilitation develops the first program in the state of Wyoming for serving a medically fragile adult in their home.
  • RENEW opens in Newcastle and celebrates the beginning of a Recycling Program in cooperation with Weston County.
  • LifeQuest officially opens.

1998-2003

  • Established the Freedom to Ride Program in Gillette
  • Purchased new services center in Sheridan and moved from 245 Broadway to 1969 South Sheridan Ave.
  • Established KARES after school and summer programs for youth with disabilities in Sheridan.
  • Purchased second supervised residence in Newcastle
  • Hired a curriculum/teacher to develop and implement Wyoming Department of Education standardized curriculum for client instruction.
  • Purchased two small independent living homes in Sheridan.
  • Building purchased in Gillette (Absaraka)  to establish Home Health Care Nursing and  Day Services for Seniors.
  • Direct Care Professional of the Year chosen from RENEW during the 1st year of the statewide program..
  • Initialized Acquired Brain Injury services in the communities of Newcastle, Gillette, and Sheridan.
